Most of below photos are took by French photographs between 1862-1937. It shows up the Khmer's traditional clothes of ordinary people in daily life as well for religious ceremony from late Lovek period to Udong and early French protectorate but the Kben and some Sbai style are the heritage of Angkor and pre-Angkor period.

After Western culture permeated in Cambodian society through French colonization and closed relations with other countries, the modern Cambodians merely abandoned this wonderful ancient tradition and embraced the Western style life. Although some of Khmer's traditional clothes from the ancient time were still popular among Khmer but only for special occasion like marriage and traditional or religious ceremony ect.

By the time of the successive bloody wars after the French departure from Indochina, many Khmer costumes and traditions were forgotten, forbidden and smashed up for various reasons, political, ethnic and genocidaire. Example, the Khmer rouge murderers which is the creation of ICP of ho chi minh and the international communism, had adopted the black clothes of tai yuon and the tired shoes of Vietcong ho chiminh while forbidden all Khmer’s clothes and tradition. The second Vietcon clone, the CPP, is not different from the first group of kr regard to Khmer's culture. While Cambodians were falling to the bottom, the tai seized the opportunity, by intensified the traffic of Khmer’s artefacts. Tai run worldwide business and sex industry with Khmer’s culture, selling as theirs. Now, with the assist of UNESCO and band, they are bashing and hiked the memory of people who left these beautiful culture for humanity..
